Okay, so this morning I recieved word from a source in America about the real meaning of Oh! Darling and what happened afterwards!!!!
It went like this:
Paul wrote Oh! Darling when John announced that he was leaving the band, but didn't let anyone know about it. John wanted to sing it, but Paul was very stubborn about singing it himself. After he recorded it, he broke down in hysterics and had to be escorted from the building. And you know the line "Don't let me down?" From the song Don't Let Me Down? He responded to that, "I never let you down!"

If I Fell from A Hard Day's Night
Oooooher ... I was just watching the scene where John sings I I Fell to cheer up Ringo (one of my favourite scenes in the film as I adore that song) and just before the end of the song where John sings "if I fell in love with you" - his eyes dart to Paul as he sings "love". Perhaps I've been reading too much McLennon (if you can read too much heh!) but I saw it. It's clear as day. Also suddenly noticed how John stares at Paul when he does his mad bass strum at the end.... :-P

i've always pictured Paul singing Oh!Darling to John <3 i've always thought of don't let me down and had a hunch that Paul was referring to that song... i love when i'm right haha! though omg the mclennoness is awesome...
